2026 Season Preview from Co-Team Principals

Ben King and Joe Sturdy, Co-Team Principals, reflect on a successful year and look ahead to the 2026 season.

“2025 was another successful season for the team, and becoming back-to-back World Champions came down to two things: consistent hard work and the discipline to think long-term. During a slower start to the season, we didn’t fixate on individual race results and instead focused on the bigger picture, trusting the process and building momentum when it mattered most.

A big part of that mindset is our belief in continuous improvement – the ‘aggregation of marginal gains’ is always on our minds. One clear example is our starts. We went from being sub-par off the line to becoming one of the best in 2025. We had the mentality of ‘if we can do this every time, we’ll win the championship.’ That change came from trusting our ability, refining our processes, and committing to getting a little bit better in every area.

We left the finale in Miami with a clear list of areas to improve, and that’s motivating. Our goal is to step up again this year. We know what it’s like to start a season with a target on our backs and to perform under pressure. The entire team is driven to keep finding new ways to extract performance from the RaceBird.

We’re heading into this season with confidence, but also with the understanding that things can change quickly in this sport, tactics will evolve and success will come down to being the fastest to adapt. With new teams, new locations and a new qualifying format, it’s exciting to be part of a championship that’s growing, and it will be great to see more fans and partners coming into the sport. The challenge is only getting bigger, and we can’t wait to get started.”
